Overlords
People who don't play games can still benefit from SoulSeed, financially, socially, competitively.
Every game can and should have a metagame experience that allows non-active participants to get involved. Why? Not everyone has time or desire to play games.. but they still might want to be part of the fun!. These kinds of users are called Overlords. The target market for this kind of experience is: adults, high net-worth individuals.. or anyone wanting to enjoy a more meta, passive experience on SoulSeed.
Overlords
An overlord is someone who will participate in Passive Gameplay. They don't have to be someone who is an active game player.
Overlords have meaningful influence on games, economies, communities, and the entire platform that also feeds the active player loop. This comes in the form of innovative choices or actions that an Overlord can take. These activities:
Don't take a lot of time or expertise to perform
Provide some kind of benefit to a specific game, community, or the platform community as a whole
Overlord Activities
Here are some examples of things Overlords can do. These kinds of things are great because they can be sometimes speculative, yes, but WAY MORE FUN than just staking, allowing an Overlord to become a benefactor or villain as they like. It's got an active, involved feel without spending time playing, and even gets them on leaderboards. Some may even involve some level of risk management, which is a skill many find quite enjoyable.
Dungeon/Boss Ownership
An Overlord may own a Dungeon, Boss, or Land. Depending on the game, owner earns entry fees, decides on loot tables, pays to level up a boss, stronger bosses drop rarer loot, attracting more/better players = more revenue for the owner.
Hero Ownership
Overlord levels or purchases a rare hero. Other players borrow it for a fee, or the Hero fights as an AI opponent in a PvP arena. Victory means rewards for the player, loss means payout for the owner.
Guild Sponsor
Overlord sponsors a guild in exchange for a % of rewards the community or guild owns, governed by smart contract. (ie Axie Infinity scholars). Sponsorship could come in the form of consumable powerups, prize pools, time-based bonuses, etc.
Seasonal World Events
Overlord pays to trigger a world boss or scenario. Whole server can rally to defeat it. When rewards drop, whale gets a cut of total loot fees/entries.
Maybe the Overlord customizes some aspect of the world boss or scenario to have a bit more fun with it.
Environment Changes
Temporarily change the world state, maybe certain loot drops increase. Prestige earned.
Bounties
Revenue-generating loop! Overlord places a bounty contract on something, like: "First player to beat my Titan in Hard Mode gets 1,000 SUI". Players pay entry fee, some goes to whale upfront. Many tickets in, one prize out. This can even be tiered!
Insurance
Another revenue-generating loop! Player plans on taking a risky contract, bounty, match, etc. Overlord acts as an underwriter, offers loss insurance. "Pay 1 SUI, if you die you get 50% of gear back". Risk management/odds involved here. Players like it because high stakes, big wins and a safety net for risky content. Payouts are automatic (smart contract), while remaining pool maybe earns yield.
